Important! The UK ETA is not available for UK citizens, Irish citizens (travelling from Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man), or those who already hold a valid UK visa or permission to live, work, or study in the UK.
Please also note that a UK ETA is not available for those who:
- Hold diplomatic passports
- Hold British National (Overseas) passports without the right to abode
- Require a standard UK visa due to their nationality
About UK ETA
The UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is an official electronic authorisation introduced by the United Kingdom to streamline entry for eligible international travellers. It allows visits for tourism, business, family visits, and short-term study.
The UK ETA application form can be submitted online within a few minutes. There is no need to visit an embassy or consulate — the entire process is completed digitally.
The UK ETA is valid for 2 years from the date of approval (or until your passport expires, whichever comes first), and allows multiple entries to the United Kingdom with stays of up to 6 months (180 days) per visit.
The UK ETA is ideal for international travellers who visit the United Kingdom for recreation, to visit friends and family, for sightseeing, or for short business trips.
The approved UK ETA is linked electronically to your passport — no printout is needed. Border officials will verify it automatically upon arrival.
Important: If you need to obtain a UK ETA urgently, we can assist you with priority processing. Contact support@e-visa-express.com to find out more.
Application process for UK ETA
To apply online for a UK ETA, you will need to go through a few simple steps:
Click on the apply button below
Prepare a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months before your travel) and apply using the online form - the process is fast and easy to follow.
You will be required to fill in every section and provide some essential details, including your personal data (full name, gender, and country), passport details (number, issue, and expiry dates), and your address details. Also, you'll need to provide a photograph of your face.
Please check all information that was provided in your application before submitting it further! Next, read and accept the terms and conditions. By accepting them, you agree that all information provided is correct. You also accept that a UK ETA does not entitle you to enter the United Kingdom if you are found inadmissible based on the country's independent immigration policies.
Your UK ETA application will be processed after the payment is received. This fee includes all of the service costs.
All major payment forms are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Sofort, Diners, and Discover.
While filling out an online application, you are required to provide an email address that is going to be used for communication purposes. When your application is completed and approved by the UK Home Office, your UK ETA confirmation will be sent directly to your email inbox.
Moreover, when your payment is registered, you will receive a confirmation email with your individual application ID. Use this number to check on the progress of your ETA processing.
UK ETA requirements
Required documents
There are only two documents that you need to prepare for a UK ETA online application:
- valid passport: it must remain valid for at least six months from the intended date of your arrival in the United Kingdom.
- applicant's face photo: you can simply take the required photo using your PC camera or phone; our consultants will adjust the received files to the requirements.
UK ETA validity and entry
The UK ETA is accepted at all major UK entry points, including airports, seaports, and Eurostar terminals. Key airports include:
- London Heathrow Airport
- London Gatwick Airport
- London Stansted Airport
- Manchester Airport
- Birmingham Airport
- Edinburgh Airport
The UK ETA allows multiple entries during its 2-year validity period, with each stay limited to up to 6 months (180 days).
Processing time: Approximately 19 hours from submission. The ETA is linked electronically to your passport — no printout required.
